RENDEZVOUS TENNIS CLUB ANNUAL THANKSGIVING SERVICE

The Annual Thanksgiving Service will be held at Knockbreda Parish Church hall on Sunday 1st April at 6.30 p.m. The preacher will be the Rector, Canon Philip Patterson and tea will be served in the church hall following the service. We encourage you to be present together with former members and the Knockbreda congregation to make this a really joyful occasion.

THANK YOU FROM MICHAEL and ELIZABETH
Please pass on to all at the Rendezvous Tennis Club our sincere appreciation for the love, prayer, interest and financial support for us both and the Lord's work in Cyprus to which he has called us. We want to tell you that the large gift of £1200 given to us last Saturday (4th November 2006) means a lot to us and comes at a time when it confirms the Lord's faithfulness as he leads us.

We shared with you how he is blessing with increased numbers and involvement that have led to the move of premises for the work in December. We are excited as we contemplate the larger place, although we will leave the Upper room with many great memories of God's miracles and blessings.

We pray for you as you continue to be salt and light in a dark world. May the club continue to be a place of fellowship and fun and a witness to the world of our Lord Jesus Christ.

With Love in Christ
Michael and Elizabeth

Michael and Elizabeth Annual Appeal
As you will be aware from previous Newsletters, Michael and Elizabeth were two very active members of our Tennis Club until 15 years ago when the Lord called upon them to work in Cyprus. As a club we still take a great interest in their work and each year they always manage to fit a visit to the club and give us an update on their work in Cyprus.

Each year we try and support them with a donation from the Rendezvous Tennis Club and if you would like to make a donation then please complete the reply slip at the end of the printed Newsletter and return it with your donation by 30 September 2005.

Rendezvous Tennis Club Annual Thanksgiving Service
The Annual Praise Service took place on the day after the Opening Day, Sunday
10th April at Knockbreda Parish Church Hall at 6.30 pm.

It took the form of an informal service and was very well attended with almost 30 of our own members augmenting the congregation. As usual, Rendezvous members participated, the prayers being led by John Price and Alan Templeton and Irene McAvoy reading Matthew Chapter 14.

Canon Patterson gave an especial welcome to the members of the club and preached the sermon while the praise was led by the instrumental group. Afterwards Maureeen Lindsay and her team of helpers served supper for all present.

Many Thanks to all who participated and who attended the service.

THANKS FROM MICHAEL & ELIZABETH in CYPRUS
Please pass on to all the folks at the Rendezvous Tennis Club our very sincere thanks for their large gift of £1100.00. As usual we are humbled by the generosity and love shown to us by you all. It is special and we certainly do not take it for granted. God is ever faithful in supplying all our needs.

I, Michael, enjoyed being with you at the fellowship evening in the Gourley's home. It was great to feel at one with so many, considering we get to see you so seldom. It was a privilege to hear the report from the Bible Society too.

As a matter of interest, I managed to get into the Faith Mission Bookshop in Belfast on the Monday, and there found N I V Study Bibles on offer (slightly shop-soiled) at half price, and when I took 10, they gave me a further discount. We wish you could have seen the fun we had taking all our weight back in the airplane! But better still, we wish you could have seen the joy on the faces of the believers here as we brought them out and explained how they could be used in their personal Bible Study. Elizabeth is still getting texts every night from them, how the Bible is coming alive as they use the cross-referencing to get the fuller picture from God's Word. These young believers have such a hunger to get to know God and His ways better through His Word.

The numbers in our fellowship are still growing, and the opportunities to share God's Word in homes also. We sometimes feel overwhelmed with the opportunities, but then God comforts us by keeping us close to Him and His direction. It's His work, and His responsibility - we are only His following servants.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the club for your prayers (God is answering), your e-mails and letters, and even your visits (in anticipation!). You are truly co-workers with us in the work of the Kingdom of God. Thanks.

May each of you know God's presence, power and leading in your lives as you seek to live for and serve Him.

Yours in Christ's precious name,
Michael and Elizabeth
