FOUNDER MEMBER - SADLY MISSED - Mina Carser

It was with great sadness we learned of the death of Mina Carser on 28th April.

To her daughter Lucille, son-in-law Will and grandchildren, we express our deepest sympathy.
Mina and her late husband, Harry, had been members of RTC for many years. Harry was the conductor of the Rendezvous Choir which met every Saturday night in the YMCA in Wellington Place.

From these beginnings the social life of the RTC began with Tennis, rambling and the fellowship evenings being a part of the Club today.

Mina's passing is the end of an era for RTC and she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

THANK YOU FROM MICHAEL & ELIZABETH in CYPRUS

Please pass on to the folks from RTC our deepest appreciation of their love, prayers and gift of £950 received recently. We are continually humbled by the Lord as he supplies our needs in such beautiful ways. Thank you so much to everyone for their support in our work here in Cyprus.

Our deepest regret is that we do not get over to the "Green Land" so frequently or enough time to meet people who are so active and interested in our work here. Please be assured that as soon as we get the opportunity we will meet up with everyone, share fellowship and explain face to face what God is doing here.

We continue to be amazed at the opportunities that God gives us to share his word. Over theses last eight weeks we have run a series for men on " What the Bible teaches". Eight Nepalise men did not miss even one of these studies. We also has some Philippinos and some Pakistanis. We look for them to trust the Lord for Salvation.

If anyone would like to receive our regular Newsletter, Please advise Eleanor Godfrey and we would be glad to add your name to the mailing list.

Thank You again
Michael & Elizabeth

RENDEZVOUS RAMBLE TO WINDY GAP LEITRIM - 04 March 2006
An artic like weather forecast was an insufficient threat to deter the hardy band of hill walkers known as the Rendezvous Ramblers from venturing into the Mourne Mountains for
the first time this year. The intrepid party of 9 assembled at the Leitrim Lodge car park
in wall to wall sunshine and prepared to do the short climb to the peak known as
Pierce's Castle.

The traditional route to the summit is a fairly straightforward track and Irene suggested
it might be more interesting to go off the track and tackle the walk from a slightly different direction . Against the leaders better judgement he acceded to this request and we soon
found ourselves negotiating small patches of snow. However the views were stunning and the dusting of snow on the range of peaks in view added to the spectacle.

A golden rule on any ramble is not to get too far ahead of the leader. This leader however was most grateful that John B had other ideas. Thanks John. I would never have spotted that bog. Hope Betty got your socks dried out.

Lunch was enjoyed at the summit with a few after lunch jokes adding to the "craic".
(Next time you see John B make sure he tells you the Alligator joke). We travelled
back down the track to the car park and then headed into Castlewellan for a coffee stop
at the Forest Café.

The leader was a bit concerned when some people described this as the best bit of the day!

Ian Bradley
(Leader)

OPENING DAY DINNER - Saturday 08 April 2006
Having completed our tennis tournament we were looking forward to our Opening Day dinner and we were not disappointed. 39 club members attended the dinner, a tremendous turn out and once again our caterers provided us with a beautiful dinner. Judging by the empty plates and the favourable feedback everyone seem to enjoy their meal.

Following the Dinner, everyone got there thinking caps on for the Table quiz with five teams competing to all about Northern Ireland. This proved to be a
very close competition and after six rounds of varied subjects we had our winners - Team " The Jokers" and their prizes were presented by Hazel and Robin Mulholland.
Congratulations to the "The Jokers" on the Opening Day quiz winners and thank you everyone who contributed to a great day.
